This is the story of the how the collective came to be.
For the past 10 years Jazzy dreamed of integrating her passion for the outdoors, yoga, and serving her community into one collective offering. After working as a Clinical Social Worker in various settings including nursing homes, schools, hospitals and prisons, she came to realize that she could bring her healing work outside in the landscape of her own personal healing.
"While I was working at San Quentin I would frequently leave a 10 hour workday at the prison and make a beeline for the water in Sausalito. I would paddle and paddle and sit on my board in the middle of the bay and breathe and let go of my entire day. I came to know the water as my therapy, self-care, and healing. I fell in love and I haven't stopped since."
The Wilderness Yoga Collective believes in promoting a daily practice of connecting to the Earth as way to crack open the soul and connect to truth and heart of who we really are.
And hence The Wilderness Yoga Collective is born.
The mission of The Wilderness Yoga Collective is to provide wilderness excursions combined with mindful practice, yoga, improvisational play, and wellness workshops to provide a holistic healing experience for all participants.
The Collective is dedicated to being of service to others, we serve our community by reaching out to those that do not have access to yoga and eliminating barriers to participation. A scholarship fund has been initiated to support those who may not otherwise be able to attend.
